theres; also denis stalker tracker and tracker.prq i hope TPB doesnt own all of them they say on the TPB blog its not gonna turn fatal. sorry to tell ya mate but when i look at where the seeders are coming from over 95% are TPB tracker. also thats what TPB were payed to say! So that people stayed on their site therefore getting more money for the domain. If you check the comments people are madly deleting there torrents and accounts. Even mods are telling them to. |

"in the process of acquiring" - so it doesnt appear to be done as of yet
but $7.8 million...thats like pennies to these companies...if they sell for that, they're screwing themselves however, that may give ideas to copyright related companies (which im shocked no one has thought of in the past) "if you cant beat 'em, buy 'em" thats a time honored American tradition (adopted shortly after "shoot first, ask questions later") -------------------- Current Length of Request List - **TEMPORARILY CLOSED**

This is like anything else in the scene. When pubs were over-run w/ FXP groups hijacking and re-tagging other groups pubs scene peeps moved to pubstros or newgroups.
Before that, peeps used to upload to Freedrive and FilesAnywhere. Before that, they created hundreds of Homestead accounts and upped zips or rars to them and posted the links. You think the uploaders from TPB will just retire and give up? Some may, the majority will just move to other trackers. |

Well, with file sharing there will always be change. It's unavoidable. We should be thankful it lasted as long as it did with
CODE http://thepiratebay.org/blog . I kinda felt this way when Napster went down. Wonder where the next great P2P community will pop up? |

So what happens now ?
Will torrents just grind to a halt ? Will there be mass prosecutions ? I thought Peer Guardian helped hide us all, does it ? I read the blog, lots of rubbish on there, but nothing really informative, a lot of slating going on Can anyone explain in nice simple terms what will happen, next -------------------- death is natures way of telling you to slow down

Privatizing something from the public domain is never a good idea, at least not for the public interests; as it transfers possibilities and freedom from the many to some few; which leaves the former free community now dependent on the discretion of those in power.
Okay, tpb was never a democracy and had only few at the top, but they stood clearly for the principles of p2p (even in court)(free sharing without commercial interests), clearly contradicting the principles of corporations and trading (shareholder value etc.). CODE http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4264571/The_Corporation_Filmmakers_Official_Download_Edition_-_DIVX very good documentaryI can very much understand Peter when he says that he is tired and wants to see something different for a change. Not only when reexamining the trial, but also from the point that they had to work 24/7 to keep this thing going with literally millions depending on them. And a lot of the dependent demanding, impatient, intolerant, ranting and moaning, basically missing/not understanding the basic idea of p2p (giving = getting = no need to be greedy). It is never the less very sad to see this happening. |

I feel this won't be the last we have heard of the Pirate Bay. This is a group of very talented individuals who understand that, the Pirate Bay as we know it now, has a gigantic and relentless target on its back. You can not continue to exist this way, the corporations have too much money and infinite resources right now.
The good news, the P2P community is eternal. As you read this, the next new technology is being developed or has been developed to bring us closer to true freedom. I was around for the beginnings of public P2P and I can tell you this is just a CODE http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_file_sharing . You can't stop the signal. END OF RANT. |

piratebay was invented. yes this file sharing rackett is way to big to up and leave it's a war thats never EVER going to end there will be more light added to the light that is already at the end of the Tunnel remember when the CD Burner first surfaced. Torrents, trackers, p2p file share sites. will never go away we may be talking piratebay the same as napster but years down the track i will still be writin' the same message, somewhere else on a site that's going to close down that does not even exsist yet! |

Then I tried copying and pasting it in my browser, same result, got the same result on my laptop Those are not links to anything....they are not supposed to go into your browser for a web page. They are trackers....they go into the Tracker box when you create a torrent. Those are the actual trackers to use but this is the website... CODE http://openbittorrent.com/ OpenBitTorrent - An open tracker project OpenBitTorrent is a bittorrent tracker free for anyone to use. You don't need to register, upload or index a torrent anywhere, all you have to do is to include the OpenBitTorrent tracker URL in your torrent. -------------------- ![]() |
