Im writing the thread so maybe we can weed out some of the more simple questions

that I see being asked over and over again. Before you have a question CHECK

HERE!! (I tried to keep my wording as nub as possible for simple understanding)

Q: What you can download games and play them on my xbox?!? HOW!!

A: To play downloaded and/or back ups of games on your 360 your going to have to mod your xbox, this is done by flashing the firmware on the dvd drive with hacked firmware.

Q: Ok, how do I do that?!

A: Flashing your dvd drive is done by hooking it up to the sata connection on your pc's motherboard or your sata card (if you have one). There are various tools you can use to flash your drive, the newest and most popular being jungle flasher. Their are differents methods to use depending on what kind of dvd drive your xbox has. Q: My tray looks like a benq but what about the new lite-ons?

A: The trays of benq's and lite-on's are identical. To figure out which one is actually is you will have to pop off your faceplate and look in a hole to see what color wire you can see. White is benq and yellow is lite-on. CLICK HERE : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdhL6dT3ZOI.

Q: I hear that lite-ons are the most difficult to flash is this true?

A: Yes I would say lite-on's are the hardest to flash. This is because the method that has to be used to dump the key involves buying a connectivity kit (xecuter CK3!) and a probe (xecutor makes one of these too). Im not going to in detail about it but GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND.

Q: Wait what is a key?

A: Each dvd drive is signed with a special key that coincides with your xbox. Essentially what your doing when modding is dumping your key and patching it into the hacked firmware so the firmware will work on your xbox.

Q: Ok well now I know what kind of drive I have but you really have yet to tell me how exactly to flash it.

A: I'm not going to go over all the different methods to flash different drives. If you have a benq, samsung, or a lite-on and are comfortable using dos, I recommend you use dosflash. If you have a hitachi or you just don't want to bother with dos, use jungle flasher. There is a very good tutorial on how to flash any drive with jungle flasher and a simple google search will find it for you.

Q: BUT WAIT I HEARD YOU CAN GET BANNED FROM LIVE FOR DOING THIS!!

A: As of right now microsoft has no way of detecting modded firmware, the way they ban you is through errors on your burned game. With tools like abgx to check your isos before you burn them, the risk of getting banned right now is VERY slim.

Q: Ok I get it, whats the newest kind of firmware should I be using to flash my drive?

A: The newest firmware to use is the ixtreme 1.6 This firmware supports the new "wave 3" games and can be found conveniently packaged with jungle flasher.All torrent sites should have a package with JF and all the current firmwares.Right now version 1.51 an still be used to play wave 3 games and keep you safe.

Q: YES I FLASHED MY DRIVE!! How do I make sure my downloaded games are safe from errors and stealth patched properly?

A: Download ABGX . ABGX will verify that your iso is good to be burned and if it isn't it will correct the errors for you. Make sure when you use you want AUTOFIX to be at level 3.




Q: I have a modded xbox and I want to flash to 1.51. Do I have to reflash back to my original firmware first?

A: Only hitachi drives need to be flashed to original firmware before flashing with 1.51.

Q: I've a hitachi but i lost my original fw. what should i do?

A: in the latest release of jungle flasher they have all hitachi's drives original fw. you will just dump your hacked fw then spoof it to the original one.. and u get ur original fw back.

I want it noted that its no longer worth using a mod chip on the 360. You can still do it of course and even buy them from other people pre installed but IMO its just a waste of money.

Grab a SATA cable.. pop that 360 open and mod that sucker! =)

not really game releated I dont have a xbox but was wondering can it play a data disc with movies put on it I know the PS3 can thats what I do really asking this for a friend.

Is there any way to retrieve a key from an already flashed lite on drive?

Someone flashed my one before and has kindly deleted it from his computer.

yw | and no not really unless they backed up the original key which is needed.

Also I wanted to mention there is a ban wave going on right now on Xlive.. us in the mod scene are not 100% why yet but trust me think tanks across the net are working 24/7 to get to the bottom of it. I will post more when I have more info.. =)
